About Me
Photography is my passion. I have worked for many years as a freelance photographer and also as a freelance IT consultant and programmer. My father influenced me with his passion for photography. Since then I photograph a wide variety of subjects with different equipment. My first camera was an almost useless Praktika. After a while I bought my first ‘real’ camera, a Mamiya 645 with the 1,9/80mmm and a simple darkroom.
When I was a student I began to photograph for artists and theater and made some exhibitions. Since my graduation I work as IT professional. For a year I operated a company for product photography. In addition to individual orders and sale of works I have always worked passionately at free projects. Part of this work can be seen here. I have used a long list of equipment. Below it is an overview of my last cameras. Meanwhile I moved to Leica which combines many features as the excellent quality, size, value and soul.
My Gear:
- Leica SL2
- Leica 2.8/24-70mm
- Lumix 1.8/24 mm
- Lumix 1.8/50mm
- Lumix S Pro 16-35mm
- Gitzo Monopod GM2561T
- Manfrotto 190 Carbon
- Wotancraft Pilot Bag
My personal list of cameras in the historical order:
- Praktica (my first camera, actually not a good one.)
- Mamiya 645 with 1.9/80mm
- Minolta 9000 (my first AF, loved it)
- Minolta 9xi (a big improvement regarding the AF speed)
- Mamiya RZ with 65mm and 127mm (I took it even on travel but it’s huge)
- Mamiya 6 with 50mm, 80mm and 150mm (6×6 for me it’s the best format and the M6 is a very small camera)
- Fuji ZA (6×4,5 is not my favorite format but very nice small full automatic medium format camera)
- Minolta Dynax 9 (Back to 35mm format, I loved the camera for street photos)
- Noblex 135 (panoramic camera, very nice pictures with a rotating lens)
- Canon 5d (well…not my camera. Good pictures out of the box but complicate in use and plastic feeling)
- Sony Alpha 900 with Zeiss 24-70mm (poor image quality, did not match the expectations)
- Mamiya ZD with 35, 45, 55, 80mm (medium format digital with a size of a Canon 5d. Very good image quality but only at ISO 50-400, and its painful slow)
- Leica M9 with 24mm Summilux, 28mm Summicron, 35mm Summilux, 50mm Summilux
- Leica M 240
- Leica Q 116
- Leica SL with 24-90mm
- Leica CL with 35mm, 11-23mm, 18-55mm, 18mm
