Santorini is one of the most popular islands in Greece. Especially for U.S. americans and Asians, this island seems to be mandatory. The view into the caldera is really fascinating. Unfortunately, the island is totally in the hand of tourism. The main town Thira is more like a shopping center than a typical Greek place.
I had the opportunity to spend two days on Santorini, including a day in Thira. Since this island has already been photographed entirely by catalog photographer, it makes no sense to make more romantic Caldera photos. Instead, it was a good chance to walk around and to make some street photos.
All pictures were taken with the Leica M with the Summilux 35 FLE and the Tri-Elmar 16mm.
